Flight Engineers Control Panel

The Flight Engineers panel is mounted on the starboard side of the aircraft, to the right of the pilot. It allows the Flight Engineer to monitor many of the engine parameters for each engine. These include water and oil temperatures, oil pressures plus fuel contents gauges, oil dilution buttons, fuel booster pump switches and various other items. There are three fuel tanks in each wing, two main and one reserve, hence the six gauges to the right of the main fuel cocks. One of the jobs of the engineer is to transfer fuel between the tanks as required. The Flight Engineers seat alongside the Pilots seat can be folded up to allow access to the Bomb Aimer/Front Gunner section (not part of this construction.)
